Update: An Exciting New Chapter for Cypress View
September 1st, 2026
Dear Friends,
We want to share an important update about the future of Cypress View.
First and foremost, our mission is still the same. We remain committed to providing safe, loving, Christ-centered homes for children in foster care. What has changed is the path we believe God is leading us to take in the wake of the Dunn Council's unwillingness to allow Cypress View to establish a residential community for vulnerable foster children.
As we've learned from experienced child welfare organizations and foster care ministries, we've become convinced that there is a tremendous opportunity to serve children through an intentional foster care community model. Rather than focusing on a residential campus, Cypress View will focus on supporting a community of foster families and helping children thrive within those families.
Our vision is to create a neighborhood-based community where foster families live near one another and receive meaningful practical, emotional, spiritual, and relational support. By reducing isolation and building strong community, we hope to help foster families continue in their calling longer while creating stable, loving homes for children.
We're particularly excited about the opportunities this creates for children. Siblings can remain connected, families can support one another, and children can grow up in family settings while remaining part of a broader caring community.
Just as importantly, we believe this model will allow Cypress View to begin serving children much sooner than originally anticipated while directing more resources toward children and foster family support.
We are grateful to be receiving guidance from organizations that have pioneered similar models, including Big Oak Ranch in Alabama, and we are excited about what lies ahead.
While the strategy has evolved, the mission remains the same. We continue to believe every child deserves a safe home, and we are more encouraged than ever about the future of Cypress View.
Thank you for your prayers, encouragement, and support. Please continue praying for wisdom and guidance as we move into this next chapter.
If you have questions, please feel free to reach out to Executive Director Laura White or the board member who first connected you with Cypress View.
With gratitude,
The Cypress View Board of Directors
